'폰트 크래프트'는 주변에서 접할 수 있는 재료를 사용해 A부터 Z까지 26개의 로마자 알파벳 서체를 만들어 보는 워크숍입니다. 실, 땅콩, 구슬, 점토, 철사 등 자신이 선택한 재료를 활용해 글자의 형태를 구성한 후, 이를 디지털 이미지로 변환하고 그 이미지를 활용해 서체 파일(.otf)을 만들어 보는 과정입니다. 재료의 물성과 질감을 글자 형태에 담아보고, 손으로 만든 서체를 화면에 옮기며 화면 밖의 감각을 그래픽에 활용하는 방식을 실험합니다.

Font Craft is a workshop where participants create a complete A–Z Latin alphabet typeface using everyday materials. Using objects such as thread, peanuts, beads, clay, or wire, each participant designs letterforms based on their chosen material. These handmade letters are then digitized and developed into a typeface file (.otf). The workshop explores how the physical qualities and textures of materials can shape letterforms, experimenting with bringing tactile, off-screen sensations into the realm of digital graphics.

The typefaces distributed by Birdcall Font Craft site is provided free of charge to all users, including individual and corporate users, and can be used freely.
However, selling the distributed typeface itself for a fee, or arbitrarily modifying and adapting the font for redistribution in any form is prohibited. The font must be used as distributed.
